Sit, rest, recline
Thirteen chairs bring new perspective.
The small collisions of everyday life can create noise and pressure that drain creativity, energy and confidence. But chasing self-belief carries a hidden cost: it takes energy which is now missing from doing the work needed to achieve the things you want. No matter what those things are, the energy in your well is finite.
In any work, personal or professional, critical moments of tension arise. And they always reach you faster than your mind can account for, but your body feels it first. Where does it settle, what does it tell us?
For sure, pressure doesn’t land in alien territory: you know yourself, and that doesn’t always have to be comfortable. You’ve been in a job, you’re a person to lots of people, you’re doing your bit, you know what it feels like to try your best. On the job, in friendships, in family, in relationships; as a chef or account manager or architect, as a producer or lawyer or carpenter. Different strokes, same sensations, no matter what you do for a living or who you are.
When positions feel too entrenched to move forward, it’s a really tough niggle to ignore.
Here’s to those who’ve been quiet seekers of a better perspective.
You’ve felt tension and know pressure. What you'd like is someone to help you work through that niggle and create new perspectives without performing sympathy at you while we do.
Thirteen Chairs is a dynamic coaching practice with a quiet ethos: authentic, off-social, capability-focused, recommendation only.
For individuals, teams and organisations.
